Nutrition is an important factor in preventing kidney disease.
Do exercise
Exercise helps you maintain a healthy weight, control blood pressure and cholesterol, increase strength and endurance, and reduce your risk of diabetes, heart disease, and kidney disease.
Stop smoking
Smoking causes diseases in every organ in the body, including the kidneys.
Take medication as directed
Some medications that have been linked to an increased risk of chronic kidney disease include antibiotics, lithium, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin or ibuprofen.
Dr. Hien further noted that taking herbal and Chinese medicines of unknown origin, provided by unreliable sources, is a common cause of chronic kidney failure in Vietnam.
