In an article for the Daily Mail on January 19, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson expressed his support for Donald Trump to win the November election to continue as US president.
`I learned that at cocktail parties in Davos, the global elite were shaking so much you could hear the ice cubes clinking in their glasses,` he wrote.

Johnson said that `rational people` can see that Trump is not actually authoritarian and that they are outraged by the legal maneuvers aimed at disqualifying him from running for office.
According to him, under Trump, the West has every chance to become stronger and the world more stable because Trump will `ask Europe to spend more money on defense`, strengthening NATO’s arsenal.
Johnson, who served as British prime minister for 13 months from 2019 to 2021, said that if re-elected, Trump will not abandon Ukraine, because he agreed to supply weapons to Kiev in 2019.

The former British prime minister believes that Trump certainly `anticipated that no agreement would be reached with Russian President Vladimir Putin` and would increase his support for Ukraine, giving Kiev what it needed to win.
`If he does the right thing and supports Ukraine, Trump’s presidency could be a major victory for the world,` he wrote.
The former British prime minister also admitted that Trump, who is facing 91 charges in four criminal cases, `said some things recklessly`.

Last September, Trump announced that if elected in 2024, he would resolve the conflict in Ukraine in just 24 hours.
