Difficulties in reviewing beneficiaries of Covid-19 pandemic benefits
Residential group officials in Hanoi check on people receiving social security benefits.
According to Ms. Hoang Thi Chien – Vice Chairwoman of Minh Khai Ward People’s Committee, the process of making a list of supported people encountered many difficulties due to the large number, diverse occupations and lack of specific instructions;
`Many people call me to ask if there are two people working in agriculture who are not eligible for subsidies, but one person has to stop working in the fields to take care of the children, meaning is it okay to stay at home and be a housewife?`, Ms. Chien said.
In addition, Ms. Chien said the ward had difficulty contacting business store owners in the area, `they are closed so we don’t know how to complete the information, while the time limit for listing is only three.`
In the coming time, Minh Khai ward will set up a review council to re-evaluate the cases on the list.
Ms. Chu Thi Thu Ha – Head of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Bac Tu Liem District, said that she also received many questions from people, but based on the Government’s regulations, in the immediate future the district will focus on supporting those who need help.
On April 9, the Prime Minister signed a resolution on measures and support packages for people facing difficulties affected by Covid-19.
People are supported for a maximum of 3 months with different levels, from 250,000 VND to 1.8 million VND per month.
