After the 4-2 win over Real Sociedad on the evening of August 15, Pique himself livestreamed on Twitch to answer questions from fans.
Previously, on August 14, Toni Juanmarti – a reporter familiar with Barca news – also said that Pique reduced his salary to almost free, compared to other players.
There are rumors that Spanish labor law does not allow players to reduce their salary by more than 50% compared to their old contract, but this news is not confirmed.

Barca’s salary fund is exceeding La Liga regulations, making them not allowed to register new players unless they cut salaries or sell players.
During the livestream exchange via Twitch, Pique also revealed that the three remaining players – including Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto – in the Barca captain group have agreed to reduce their salaries to help the club.
On August 14, Barca’s homepage announced that they had successfully registered Memphis Depay, Eric Garcia and Yusuf Demir, one day before playing the first round of La Liga.
It was Depay who crossed the ball for Pique to head in to open the score against Sociedad.
Barca cannot register rookie Sergio Aguero yet, but there is still time because the Argentine striker is recovering from injury for two months.
