Rushmore is one of America’s proud sculptural masterpieces, attracting many tourists.

Many tourists still think that this mountain is simply… a mountain and few know that it has contained a secret for many decades.

Because the faces of four American presidents are carved on the cliff, many tourists have given Rushmore a more memorable name: Face Mountain.

According to The Sun, inside Mount Rushmore there is a secret room.

Today, visitors can easily find this secret room behind President Abraham Lincoln’s head and designed as a monument – a place that will fully tell you about the living history.

This giant stone sculpture is located in South Dakota, built between 1927 and 1941. The creators of this masterpiece are father and son artists Gutzon Borglum and Lincoln Borglum.

Initially, Gutzon felt that creating a work on a giant mountain to depict American history was too complicated, so he hesitated with his intention.

Today, visitors to Rushmore can visit this mysterious room, however it is considered a difficult place to reach because of its dangerous location.

Mount Rushmore is a national memorial, near Keystone, South Dakota.

Although the original idea was to sculpt statues of the four presidents from head to waist, due to lack of funds, the carving work ended in 1941.

The National Park Service began managing the memorial in 1933 when the project was still unfinished and still manages it today.
