Mr. Bach Dang Khoa, Deputy Director of the Bac Giang Department of Education and Training, said the decision to stop holding the first exam at Lang Giang High School No. 3 was made after 472 candidates completed the exam procedures.
After the check-in session, a candidate in Tan Yen district who registered to take the exam at this exam location took a quick Covid-19 test at the health station and the result was positive.
Tan Yen District People’s Committee has proposed that the Bac Giang Department of Education and Training adjust the exam plan.
Thus, 472 candidates taking the exam at Lang Giang High School No. 3 will take the second round, along with candidates who are not eligible to take the first round. The specific exam schedule will be announced by the Ministry of Education and Training later.
This year, Bac Giang has 33 exam locations with more than 18,400 candidates participating in phase 1;
Some parents took their children to the exam site at Tran Hung Dao Secondary School, Phu Yen and had to return because the exam stopped.
In Phu Yen, the exam site of Tran Hung Dao Secondary School (Tuy Hoa City) with 388 candidates and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School (Tay Hoa) with 384 students had to stop at the request of the Department of Health.
Due to the decision to stop taking the exam this morning, many candidates did not know, still went to the exam site and had to return.
Mr. Tran Khac Le, Director of Phu Yen Department of Education and Training, said that before the exam, the health sector took Covid-19 test samples from candidates at two locations, detecting many suspected cases of nCoV infection.
From June 24 until now, Phu Yen has recorded 336 Covid-19 cases.
Localities have been preparing for many months for the graduation exam, but due to the rapid infection rate of Covid-19, yesterday afternoon Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directed the Ministry of Education and Training to note where it is safe to take the exam.
On the morning of July 7, about one million candidates nationwide entered the high school graduation exam in the context of nearly 19,000 Covid-19 cases, recorded in 55 provinces and cities.
