At the end of 2017, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment announced the Draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Land Law to collect comments from the people.

The draft also proposes to amend Clause 3, Article 114 in the direction of assigning the authority to decide specific land prices to the District People’s Committee in cases of land recovery, land allocation, or land lease to households and individuals.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment believes that the implementation process of the 2013 Land Law shows that land resources have not really been fully exploited and promoted;

The first Land Law took effect on January 8, 1988 with six chapters and 57 articles.
