After more than a day of work, the 2nd Central Conference (term XIII) closed on the morning of March 9.
The Central Executive Committee affirmed that it is necessary to soon consolidate and reorganize the leadership positions of state agencies;

At the conference, the Central Committee voted to introduce candidates for the positions of President, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the National Assembly – which are key leadership positions of the State, `with a very concentrated number of votes,
The Politburo also reported to seek the Central Committee’s opinion before officially introducing personnel for other positions for the National Assembly to consider, elect or approve in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and law.
General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong said that the Politburo will direct the authorities to accept the Central opinions and complete the plan to introduce personnel to run for leadership positions of state agencies.

After the 2nd Central Conference (term XIII), along with leadership and good implementation of high-level personnel work at the 11th session of the 14th National Assembly, competent levels will continue to strengthen the leadership of agencies.
Referring to the full-term working program of the 13th Central Executive Committee, General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong said that the Central Committee basically agrees with the report and draft working program;
The Central Government’s full-term work program needs to focus on concretizing and directing the implementation of 6 key tasks, pressing practical issues, difficulties that need to be removed and resolved, and breakthroughs.
In order to well implement the full-term work program approved by the Central Government, immediately after this conference, General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong said that the Politburo will urgently direct research and develop a plan.
The 2nd Central Conference (term XIII) opened on the morning of March 8, reviewing and discussing the entire term’s work program;
Among the three key leadership positions of the State, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was elected President at the sixth session of the 14th National Assembly (October 2018).
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc was elected as Head of the Government for the 2011-2016 term at the 11th session of the 13th National Assembly (April 7, 2016);
National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan was also elected Chairwoman of the National Assembly at the 11th session, 13th National Assembly (March 31, 2016).
At the 13th Congress, General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc were re-elected to the new term of the Central Committee and elected by the Central Committee to the 13th term of the Politburo.
National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan was not re-elected to the 13th Central Committee.
