Posting an image of Rising Sun being at sea with the caption `isolated in the Grenadines` last month, David Geffen received a pile of `criticism`.
Many cruise lines have come up with new projects to `survive` the pandemic.
However, Geffen’s photo is just the beginning.
The answer is yes.
`Not many private yacht owners choose to quarantine on their ships,`Â Rupert Connor, from crewing company Luxury Yacht Group LLC, told CNN.
`It is truly a sanctuary, the most wonderful oasis compared to what is happening in the world because of the epidemic. Many larger cruise ships can self-isolate for months, because they have full technical systems.`
Many people believe that hanging around all day on a cruise ship for 2-3 months, even though surrounded by luxurious services, passengers will quickly feel bored.
However, those who are self-isolating on cruise ships are having their holiday `on hold`.
Currently, some wealthy customers have expressed interest in this luxury quarantine service, but Connor’s company refuses to provide it because of many risks.
Jonathon Beckett, CEO of the luxury yacht brokerage company, revealed to luxury lifestyle magazine Robb Report that many customers have recently contacted me.
The cruise will provide cooking courses for children, taught by a chef.
Luxury Yacht Group hopes to provide a similar experience where yacht charter companies can fully screen both passengers and crew.
However, Rumble Romagnoli, CEO of a yacht marketing company in Monaco, is skeptical about this issue.
Romagnoli also emphasized how tourists can be stranded in the middle of the sea for weeks and soon face a boring life, despite being surrounded by luxurious amenities.
Furthermore, current global travel restrictions make accessing cruise ships more difficult.
Another important thing is that most seafarers on many ships have temporarily quit their jobs and returned home due to the epidemic situation.
