Entering the Vietnamese market late last year, Bytedance’s TikTok short video social networking application has just had its first official shares after a year of `hiding` focusing on developing users and causing a fever among young people.
TikTok Singapore has an office to support the Vietnamese market with a staff of around 70 people.
Ms. Diep Que Anh (standing in the left corner) said that Vietnam is the fastest growing market in Southeast Asia for Tik Tok.
`After just one year, Vietnam is our largest user growth market in Southeast Asia,` Ms. Que Anh said TikTok has covered Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.
With a series of applications competing to retain viewers to sell ads, this is quite a big advantage.
For many users, TikTok has the initial impression of being a short video sharing application (15 seconds per video with regular accounts) for young people.
Ms. Que Anh admitted that the application is trying to `age` the content to have a wider user coverage.
The origin of TikTok is a controversial topic.
The Telegraph and many other newspapers call Bytedance a Chinese technology company.
TikTok’s power in the global advertising market is growing rapidly.
